Delicious and also so pretty

For those of us who have been exposed to Japanese culture and have enjoyed eating Japanese cuisine for decades, it is very clear that desserts have traditionally not been part of their meals. Of course, things have now changed, and a lot of young Japanese enjoy sweet dishes exactly as we do, with Japanese cafes selling cakes, pastries, chocolates, and ice cream. One other change that I have noticed is the availability of candies made from a huge variety of materials, including some very Japanese ingredients like rice and azuki beans. They tend to be only lightly sweet.
