24-hour recovery breast augmentation procedure

I often try to emphasize the safety issues by saying that cosmetic surgery is not a trip to the day spa. While I still continue to believe that indeed going into an operation room and undergoing anesthesia has some degree of risk, my analogy with day spa might soon be proved wrong. Some surgeons are trying to do exactly that – make surgery seem like a trip to the day spa by reducing the number of risks. They are doing that by operating under local anesthesia or finding other high-tech means to make surgery less invasive and making the recovery time shorter.

In a separate article, we discussed how Dr. Leonard Grossman has developed a stand-up liposuction procedure. Now a Dallas plastic surgeon Dr. William P. Adams has come up with a 24-Hour Recovery Breast Augmentation procedure. Dr. Adams has implemented several specific techniques that minimize tissue trauma while minimizing the length of the recuperation period — a major advantage for his patients who undergo this cosmetic surgery.

In his procedure, there are no drains, straps, special bras, tapes or bandages. “The expected norm for my breast augmentation patients is that they will be out to dinner the night of the procedure, and back to normal activities within 24 hours after surgery,” he reports.

In fact, over 95% of his patients return to the regular tasks of daily living within the one day timeframe. Patients are encouraged to use their hands and arms normally, including showering and styling their hair and raising their arms over their head on the same day as the procedure.
