How to look like an Asian?

It is not every day that someone wants to have plastic surgery to look Asian. But there are some girls like Janice who want to do that. She writes, “I was wondering how do you go about getting this surgery/surgeries? I have been looking into this and my research shows that there is virtually nothing on that. Only for Asians to get plastic surgery to get Caucasian features, like the double eyelid or high bridge nose. And sadly whenever I have asked on plastic surgery or beauty boards, instead of answering, people would just say “Why would you want to look Asian?” but on the same board, the users would suggest plastic surgery to Black/Asian people. Could you please give me more information on it?”

The first step is to meet with a cosmetic surgeon in your area rather than chat up with friends or family members or perfect strangers in forums. I think there is a lot of bias that somehow Asian people should try to look Caucasian and it is somehow stupid for anyone else, particularly a Caucasian, to try to look Asian.

When you go for a consultation it is best to bring pictures of people (e.g. Asian movie stars or models or even your friends) that you would like to look like. That way your surgeon will know what is possible and can give you further guidance on what will work well with your overall face. And I think it will help if the surgeon is an Asian with an experience in working on Asians. Plastic surgery is as much medical expertise as it is art.
