We have all heard of retaliation romances and divorces after plastic surgery, but looks like the latest trend is to have cosmetic surgery after a breakup or divorce. The reality is that this may not be something new after all. A divorce is generally the last stage of a bitter and toxic marriage and the whole process may drag on for years, starting with fights, counseling, reconciliations, to signing of the divorce papers. So for both men and women the final step comes as a big relief and in their effort to start a new life after divorce, going under the knife can be a big boost to the body image.
Obviously, plastic surgeons are capitalizing on this trend, particularly targeting women who might have also received a big divorce settlement. It is also important to understand that if you want to get back into the dating game, having a youthful appearance may be advantageous considering how much we are all obsessed with age. For women in their 40s or older, having some surgery can make all the difference because men in their age bracket gravitate towards younger women, and while some women are able to find younger guys, they are often labeled as cougars and not everyone approves of women with boy toys.
