Reconnecting with your high school sweetheart

hen we fall in love for the very first time, the raw emotions are very powerful. However, as we get older and have multiple relationships, we mature and become less and less passionate about it. It does not mean that we have lesser capacity for loving, it is just that the newness wears off. There is one exception, though. We never fail to appreciate our first love, typically in high school.

Todd is one of those men who still thinks of his high school sweetheart. "After high school we went our separate ways but after many years now I have come to realize that I really still like her. However, I can't seem to get her to hang out with me or even talk to me. It seems to me that she has lost all interest in me. First of all you must understand that we all change after we leave high school and what seemed like normal back then does not seem that way later on. On the other hand, it might even seem immature and childish. A lot of people want to behave more like a grownup and may want to abandon whatever they did when they were teenagers.

To me it appears that your dream girl is either in a serious relationship at this time or has some misconceptions about you. So one of the first things for you to do is to confirm if she is single. If not, just leave her alone and move on. You will have your chances with other girls.

If you can confirm that she is single and still disinterested in you, it might still be a good idea to not push this too far. However, if you still want to pursue this, you might want to send her a card explaining that you would like to know if she would like to explore a relationship again with you since you have since realized that you liked her more than you knew and would like to restart the relationship. If you do not hear from her or get a not-so-enthusiastic response, then it seems that she just is not interested in a relationship with you. And you should not hold it against her. Just move on and let her get along with her life.
