Merck losses grow as Vioxx lawsuits hurt

Merck, the maker of now recalled Vioxx, is literally drowning under a barrage of lawsuits. In latest news from CNN, Merck is already facing over 4,000 Vioxx lawsuits. And the very first trial in Texas is not going well so far for Merck. While Merck may very win this particular case on technical grounds (Robert Ernst did not die from heart attack but a related disease called arrhythmias), but the evidence presented so far is very damaging to Merck's credibility.
