Relationships in trouble due to stress of Iraq war
War zones can be stressful places no matter the level of training provided to troops. Col. Thomas Burke, the Defense Department's director of mental-health policy in Washington, says that troops have experienced these symptoms throughout American military history. The LA Times is quoting Army's surgeon general as saying that one out of three troops has developed stress-related mental health problems after returning home from the Iraq war.
