Viagra deaths reported in the UK
According to the British newspaper the Daily Mail, over 100 people have died after taking Viagra - the male erectile dysfunction (impotence) drug manufactured by Pfizer. After reports of link between Viagra and sudden blindness in men, the FDA forced manufacturers of Viagra, Levitra, and Cialis to add warnings to the label though some had expected a recall of Viagra.
This new development, based on reports from the British Government is likely to increase calls for a recall or even a total ban. The estimates by private experts put the total number of deaths in the UK at about 1,000. Because of the way Viagra works, it can make existing heart conditions even worse. The other hypothesis is that men may wrongly believe that they are physically fit after taking Viagra and may over-exert themselves in the bedroom.
