Sanjay is really bad

You know despite my obsession with entertainment - that is how I find the best video clips - I do not watch American Idol. My life is quite fun without it. This season too I have not watched it but unlike last seasons, there is one person that is dominating the news: Sanjaya. He is everywhere. I found out that his parents are Indians, and from some of the videos that I have featured here, I know that Indians are good dancers. Both Indian men and women dance well, though it looks funny to me. I think it is the Bollywood influence.

When I watched Sanjaya, wow, he is horrible and is a shame for those one billion Indians. I hear that India is a fascinating country and despite the hype and shortcomings, it is a fun place to visit as well. Oh I would love to go to Mumbai and hook up with some of the movie stars if I can. Watch this funny spoof.

Indian students song and dance performance video

You know what I am really starting to like Indian people. I think we may not give them enough credit for what they are capable of and simply think of them as the ones to answer our phones. But it also seems that they have earned their reputation. Remember this video of an Indian movie - rather funny! Or this woman who dances to a Bollywood song? Or these actresses dressed as schoolgirls imitating Britney Spears? Or these people at an Indian wedding party. And it also appears that Indian men dance like women. Their dance moves are so interesting that there is even a Bollywood workout video.

Watch this clip below of a performance by Indian students at Tufts. If you do not like the music show in the beginning, fast forward it and head to a group of Indian girls, yet again, dancing to some Bollywood music. Pretty funny!

Spring break music video

Even "normal" people behave differently while on spring break. Maybe it has to do something with spring break fever, but I guess the warm temperatures and beautiful beaches have role to play, and does the fun-filled environment.

That is how I came across that "serious" video that builds on the spring break theme. I was particularly impressed by not only by the antics of Caneman but also the spirit of spring breakers.

Mandy Moore In My Pocket music video

Were you tempted by my Pattaya video to visit this beautiful beach in Thailand? Hey, watch this music video from Mandy Moore called "In My Pocket" and you will be trying to find the cheapest ticket to to this fun country (and it is not just the women that are hot - Thai men look quite exotic to me.)

And if you are a music fan and that is where you spend all of your money, Thailand has a lot more to offer, for instance, some really great spas popular among the likes of Jude Law.

And one thing is for sure, while Mandy Moore might have problems of her own with men, she is one hell of a good singer - I also liked traces of Asian beat in the track.

Justin Timberlake SexyBack video clip

I am sure if Britney Spears had been together with Justin Timberlake, her life wouldn't be such a mess. While she is having a complete meltdown, there he is on top of his game despite his breakup with Cameron Diaz. He is simply too good in his song "SexyBack."

Like millions of other people, I was initially not sure if I liked this song but once I watched the music video a couple of times, I realized that he is sending some very subtle messasges with his lyrics. Find out for yourself by watching this clip.

Color Me Kubrick film video

I am a big fan of John Malkovich, particularly after watching "Being John Malkovich." Is it hard to play yourself? Probably. I am sure that if someone were to ask me be me, I will just get so confused. While most of the time I am just being me but when someone tells me to be me, I watch each and every action of mine - in the process, I definitely am not "me."

In the movie "Color Me Kubrick," Malkovich plays another real person - Stanley Kubrick (the renowned film director and producer). A difficult task, indeed. In this movie too, like rest of them, Malkovich is brilliant. Watch the trailer.

Filippinos dance to a music video on the beach

When I went to The Philippines, I was not only impressed by the weather, the weather in Cebu, the food, but also the beautiful people of the country - I mean the women. Then I have run into the wonderful Filippino people in the US, Hong Kong, and Japan.

So here is a music video that shows you some of the most beautiful people in the country and they belong to the local Cebu Reggae Band.

Disney vacation video

I was not very lucky to get to go to Orlando (Disney, Epcott, Universal Studios, etc.) as a child (we lived too far and my parents never got around to bringing me), but when I grew up I did not think it was appropriate for me to go until a girlfriend dragged me for a week there.

Wow, what a trip. Of course, there is so much to do if you are a kid or if go as a family, but there is a lot to do for people of any age, including couples who are dating or even just a group of friends.

I do not think that a video can fully capture the spectacle that you see at the Disney MGM Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, but this video does a pretty good job. Just make sure that you are wearing comfortable shoes - you will walk a lot! And yeah, don't forget the inner child in you.

Life in Japan video

Life in Japan is different and there are parts of Japanese life that you can never find out if you are just visiting as a tourist. You might even stay in a traditional "ryokan" (Japanese style inn) or even have a Japanese friend be your guide. I lived in Japan for years and despite my being immersed in Japanese culture and society, I continue to discover that there are so many things about Japan that I know nothing about. While excellent knowledge of the Japanese language helps, it is not everything.

But what if you were curious about Japan but didn't have the time to do all of the above? Watch this video clip that within a matter of minutes gives you a snapshot of what life in Japan is like. Forget the lyrics and I thought the music was nice.

Teenagers created music video

One thing that I like to do is to enjoy amateur art - there is a freshness to it that you can't see when professionals perform their magic (The sad reality of life is that when giant corporations take over they destroy creativity in their efforts to increase marketability).

That does not mean that there aren't good amateur artists out there who are willing to keep it simple. That is why this video clip created by a group of (what looks like) teenagers is so remarkable. They may not have created the best music in the world but notice the lyrics, the guitar, the context, and the fun they have had in creating this music video while ordering food at a fast food joint.

Anger grows against Starbucks Coffee

While you are entitled to your preferences, few would argue that Starbucks has changed the coffee business. This overpriced coffee served by very friendly staff is "addictive," particularly to those who have all the extra money to spend on a a cup of coffee - while the money part does not apply to me, I do drink lots of Starbucks coffee - after all coffee helps in seduction of women and also coffee can help you stay young.

Having said that, I am increasingly disappointed by the mess in their restaurants. They are always packed (looks like some people literally live there all for the price of a cup of coffee) and so very often with dirty tables, floor, and bathrooms.

Comedians performing at the Oscars video

I watch the Oscars or the Globes for the red carpet action (it is fun to observe who is wearing what and how good or bad they look) and I must confess that I hate those boring thank you speeches (especially thanking God and family members - I think that should be done privately).

The only stage action I appreciate is performances. And this time, we had an excellent performance by Will Ferrell, Jack Black, and James Taylor. The last thing I expect from comedians is excellent choreography and singing. I must say whatever they did was a lot of fun and excellent art. So if you did not get a chance to watch the action live or want to enjoy the video again, here is the clip from the Oscar night.

Pattaya beach in Thailand video

You know when we hear of places like Thailand, the first time I learned about it was as a popular plastic surgery destination. Then I also found that celebrities like Kate Moss and Jude Law love to vacation in Thailand.

As I started to do more research, particularly after numerous visits to Thai restaurants in New York City, I learned that the beaches in the country are incredible. Of course, many European tourists go there for committing adultery, and Japanese women go to have flings with Thai men.

So I recommend that you check out this video clip of Pattaya beach area in Thailand.
