Well, hating gays is great for raising money (typically the main goal of churches) but talking about divorce is bad for business. With 50% divorce rate, chances are that as many as half of a church's congregation is divorced or has gone through a divorce. If you tell these people not to divorce or criticize divorce, not only will they give no money to the church, they might disappear altogether.
