Real Sarah Palin

As I said in my previous video on Sarah Palin, it is impossible to find anything good to say about her, except may be that she is a sexy woman. No surprise then that except for a few hopeless and desperate Republicans and evangelical extremists, everyone else is ridiculing her and definitely not because she is a woman. I would have made fun of her even if she were a man because she is simply such an interesting character.

Sara Benincasa is a great comedian and watch this clip in which she brings the real Sarah Palin to you.

Food court musical

When we watch a musical either on Broadway or in a movie and see people erupting into a song at any moment (I understand that Indians only watch musicals because all Bollywood movies are made that way), we just take it as an art form, a unique way to tell a story. What we don't expect is that to happen in real life. In fact if we are in a public place and if someone just starts to sing (even if she or he has beautiful voice) we think that person is crazy. I wouldn't be surprised if the cops even arrest that person.

Well that is exactly what happened at a mall in Los Angeles where a group of performers performed a musical in the food court but the diners had no idea what was going on. Watch this video recorded with hidden cameras to see the horror and discomfort on people's faces. Thank God these morons eventually decided to give the performers a round of applause.

Paul Wirth 30 Day Sex Challenge

A church in Florida (Relevant Church in Ybor City) appears to have found the answer to lower the 50% divorce rate among Christians in America.

So what is the solution?

More sex. Actually, while even Brazilians are not known to do it daily, pastor Paul Wirth has issued a 30-day sex challenge to married couples (apparently it does not matter if you are in a monogamous relationship for decades but are not legally married).

Christianity is known as a religion hostile to physical intimacy, (unlike Hindus, for instance, who came up with kamasutra) not just among gays and lesbians, but also among heterosexual couples. While the Protestants are somewhat more open minded, the Catholics are outright opposed to doing anything if it is not for the purpose of making babies. As the Relevant Church document points out, "For far too long the church has remained silent on the subject, leading many people to believe that God is against sex, which is completely counter to what the Bible teaches." I am sure that the Pope disagrees.

According to the church, "People are not having enough sex. An epidemic of breakups prove the needs that lead to a great sex life are being overlooked. Dirty dishes, frumpy clothes, and a lack of authentic connections are killing the romance. A great sex life is a challenge and takes focus, determination, and planning. Some say it’s an unrealistic goal, but we disagree. We believe you can have a great sex life, in fact we believe God wants you to have a great sex life."

This is new territory for Christians but this church has a pastor who would be a better host on MTV than in a church. He talks about what my wife is calling a sexathon with the ease with which he probably talks about baseball or gardening. "We know, it sounds crazy. However, we believe this challenge will not only improve sex lives, but also strengthen relationships. In this series married couples will review the obvious needs of him and uncover the forgotten needs of her and singles will cut through the illusions and consider the qualities that result in healthy relationships.

Barack Obama Bollywood video

I know well enough that Bollywood (movies from India that often include meaningless dancing with dancers making hilarious moves - apparently the films are very popular even among the educated Indians, some of whom may be answering your phone calls). Here is a hilarious video of Hindi (the language spoken by most Indians) movie clips that somehow manages to introduce Senator Barack Obama. I requested an Indian friend to translate the lyrics and she says that they are neither political nor do they have much relevance to the American presidential election. I think the Hillary Clinton Sopranos spoof video is funnier. I also like the Elizabeth Kucinich interview of FLIF by Jason Jones.

Julia Boggio, James Derbyshire first dance

The wedding day is one of the most special moments in a couple's relationship (here is another great video of a man's wedding tribute to his bride to each other) and that is why the first dance is so important. I know couples who practice for months for their first dance and some even take lessons from a professional. While many couples just manage to do fine, others excel. Julia Boggio and James Derbyshire is one such couple. Like many other couples, they put their video on YouTube and it caught fire. It is one of the most popular videos as they dance to the Dirty Dancing music. Guess what; they even got invited by Oprah to their show and a big surprise came when Patrick Swayze – the original Johnny Castle – came to the stage and danced with Julia. If you have not watched the video, here it is:

Barbie Girls amateur video by Lynne and Tessa

The Internet can make any one with good looks and talent to become famous. And of course, you need a video camera though even a webcam would do. That is what has happened to Lonelygirl15 or Obama Girl. Plus, of course, Lynne and Tessa. Here is one of their most popular videos, their amateur dance to the music of Barbie Girls.

Japanese obon dance

Fans of Japanese culture know that dance is an integral part. Of course, many gaijins think of Roppongi nightclubs as a window into dancing in Japan or even para-para, but obon dancing is what I am talking about here. This is a form of dance that is embedded into the Japanese culture for centuries and this dance is performed during summer to honor the dead loved ones. Here is a one brief clip of the dance.

Don't take life too seriously

Many of us take our lives so seriously that we forget that there is so much more to life than work, jobs, bosses, projects, deadlines, promotions, raises, and all the other BS that comes with being just another Joe or Jane. Here is a funny (but with a strong underlying message about taking it easy in life) video about two men battling over soccer.

Indian students dancing Bollywood style bhangra

Indian people have dancing in their genes and students from India (remember Sanjaya) have definitely brought their talents to our universities. Of course, the fact that almost all Bollywood films are essential musicals, helps in turning almost all Indians into dancers.

Now what happens when the number of students from India reaches a number that is so powerful that they can actually compete with each other? That is what has led to bhangra (a form of dance from the Punjab region of India) competitions. Watch this series of video clips about people who love the dance so much that they are willing to practice and then compete for honors within the Indian community.

The first video is about the so-called Bollywood Dance Crazies, who apart from getting good grades in school, also work to perfect their moves.

This short film reveals the secret to winning a Bollywood dance competition often held at one of the universities in the US.

And finally, as they say, the world belongs to Indians, some of just happen to live in it.

Bellydancing performance video

When I featured this Korean bellydancer, it just proves how global bellydancing has become. I can no longer say that the best dancers are in the Middle East since right here in America we have some of the finest talent. And trust me, most of them have learned it here too.

So enjoy this video clip of a dancer who gives a performance in which like many women in India, she puts a plate full of candles on her head. If it seems too dangerous to you, it is; the key is years of practice.

Sanjay is really bad

You know despite my obsession with entertainment - that is how I find the best video clips - I do not watch American Idol. My life is quite fun without it. This season too I have not watched it but unlike last seasons, there is one person that is dominating the news: Sanjaya. He is everywhere. I found out that his parents are Indians, and from some of the videos that I have featured here, I know that Indians are good dancers. Both Indian men and women dance well, though it looks funny to me. I think it is the Bollywood influence.

When I watched Sanjaya, wow, he is horrible and is a shame for those one billion Indians. I hear that India is a fascinating country and despite the hype and shortcomings, it is a fun place to visit as well. Oh I would love to go to Mumbai and hook up with some of the movie stars if I can. Watch this funny spoof.

Disney vacation video

I was not very lucky to get to go to Orlando (Disney, Epcott, Universal Studios, etc.) as a child (we lived too far and my parents never got around to bringing me), but when I grew up I did not think it was appropriate for me to go until a girlfriend dragged me for a week there.

Wow, what a trip. Of course, there is so much to do if you are a kid or if go as a family, but there is a lot to do for people of any age, including couples who are dating or even just a group of friends.

I do not think that a video can fully capture the spectacle that you see at the Disney MGM Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, but this video does a pretty good job. Just make sure that you are wearing comfortable shoes - you will walk a lot! And yeah, don't forget the inner child in you.

Anger grows against Starbucks Coffee

While you are entitled to your preferences, few would argue that Starbucks has changed the coffee business. This overpriced coffee served by very friendly staff is "addictive," particularly to those who have all the extra money to spend on a a cup of coffee - while the money part does not apply to me, I do drink lots of Starbucks coffee - after all coffee helps in seduction of women and also coffee can help you stay young.

Having said that, I am increasingly disappointed by the mess in their restaurants. They are always packed (looks like some people literally live there all for the price of a cup of coffee) and so very often with dirty tables, floor, and bathrooms.

Watch this video (that I filmed during my trip to New York City) in which activists protest against the company for not giving a fair share of the profits to coffee growers.

Happy family time at the beach video

While there is no substitute for videos done by professionals and there are a lot of really bad amateur videos out there, once in a while you run into a great video created by someone like you and I. I featured one of those videos in which a man paid a very romantic tribute to his bride on their wedding day. I have another one for you. This time another video with a happy family with two teenagers in particular who are just having a great time in summer. Lots of beaches, beautiful sand, and big smiles.

London Bridge by Fergie fans

Give girls a video camera or even just a webcam, cool outfits, and great music by Fergie - more specifically, the track "London Bridge." The result: a great music video. Yes, I find such amateur videos even more fun than the real music videos because once you see these, you are done. With fan videos, you can watch them forever, because each fan has a new spin on. Here are some other fan music videos that I like: Like a virgin, Cold hearted snake, La Isla bonita, and Hips Don't Lie.
