Sanjay Malakar update

Alright I was, along with millions of other American Idol fans, was convinced that Sanjay Malakar was really bad at singing. Now that would mean that our efficient system of eliminating bad stuff would mean that his singing career would be over.

You will be shocked to know that we seem to have an appetite for bad stuff (hey Paris Hilton is still in business and Heidi Montag is not doing bad either). And Sanjay proudly proclaimed that he has not had a haircut since his appearance on the show.

Fantasia music video Hood Boy

Just because someone doesn't win American Idol it does not mean that she ain't a good singer. Fantasia Barrino is a classic example of that. While it took me some time to appreciate and like the music of this R&B singer, but now I am hooked. "Hood Boy" is a very typical Fantasia song that takes you to a different time and place, but don't worry, you got Fantasia with you.

Jordin Sparks video interview

I do admire Jordin Sparks, the American Idol winner. the way I admire Jennifer Hudson. Watch her video clip of her interview in which she discusses a whole range of things going on in her life, including Sanjaya. She is simply an amazing artist and I don't know if she will change over time but right now she is so simple, approachable, and down-to-earth. Of course, what will make her successful is her talent, though I was somewhat disappointed that Taylor Hicks hasn't done so well commercially.

Sanjay is really bad

You know despite my obsession with entertainment - that is how I find the best video clips - I do not watch American Idol. My life is quite fun without it. This season too I have not watched it but unlike last seasons, there is one person that is dominating the news: Sanjaya. He is everywhere. I found out that his parents are Indians, and from some of the videos that I have featured here, I know that Indians are good dancers. Both Indian men and women dance well, though it looks funny to me. I think it is the Bollywood influence.

When I watched Sanjaya, wow, he is horrible and is a shame for those one billion Indians. I hear that India is a fascinating country and despite the hype and shortcomings, it is a fun place to visit as well. Oh I would love to go to Mumbai and hook up with some of the movie stars if I can. Watch this funny spoof.
