How to dance the momi movi?

Sex change surgery is not simple and socially not so acceptable but in some cases it can do wonderful things. that is exactly what a Japanese man Kenji Ounishi did by becoming a sexy woman Ai Haruna after undergoing gender reassignment surgery. She went on to become a popular Japanese idol by launching her music career (though her voice does retain some of the male intonation but that might even make her more appealing to her fans) and then also won the Miss International beauty pageant in Thailand.

What attracted me to her that like Obon or para para in Japan and macarena or Whine Up here at home, she has now come up with a new dance form called Momi Momi. Watch this clip in which she performs this dance wearing a schoolgirl costume.

And in the same spirit as Kat DeLuna who taught how to perform the Whine Up dance moves, here is an instructional video in Japanese if you want to try out the Momi-Momi moves.

Miley Cyrus pole dancing

I am so sorry that creepy dad Billy Ray Cyrus is so desperate to exploit the sexuality of his daughter and do what any dad should be embarrassed for his daughter. Watch this video in which Miley Cyrus is imitating bad role models for kids like Britney Spears.

And what does her loving father thinks?

"I just think that Miley loves entertaining people. I always tell her to love what you're doing and stay focused for the love of the art and not worry so much about opinion," he tells Access Hollywood. I hope parents of teens and tweens are taking note and planning to ban Hannah Montana.

Aishwarya Rai dancing in Bollywood movie

From time to time I end up watching Bollywood films simply because the dances are so entertaining. I have to say, though, that despite enjoying "Slumdog Millionaire" a lot as a movie that so accurately depicts the extreme poverty in India, I still missed song and dance sequences. The song Jai Ho did not really jive very well as it was towards the end and most people in the theater started to leave.

Similarly, I was disappointed by "Sarkar," a crime drama, which did not have a single song/dance. And that is when someone suggested "Singh is Kinng," a really stupid movie but it was fun to watch a Lebanese looking actress Katrina Kaif dance in the Egyptian desert. Then a friend pointed me to Aishwarya Rai dancing to the song "Nimbooda - Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam," which I am told may be impossible to translate from an Indian language but implies that "I have given you my heart." Beautiful Indian girls in gorgeous dresses.

Bridesmaids stripping for groom on wedding night

Weddings are supposed to be fun and that is why all the way from the bachelorette parties to wedding day of beauty to the actual day of exchanging vows are filled with both solemn and crazy moments. Do some people take it too far? Absolutely! We all have watched crazy first dances but in this incredible video, after the first dance, the bride leaves the stage to a group of bridesmaids who literally perform a strip dance for the groom.

Shannon Elizabeth Derek Hough ballroom dancing

I have said before that if you are trying to find a girlfriend or want to catch the attention of a man, go and hit the dance floor. In a very public example on the television show Dancing With The Stars we have seen Karina Smirnoff and Mario Lopez, and Sabrina Bryan and Mark Ballas fall in love.

Yet another couple that fell in love is Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough (brother of another pro on the show Julianne Hough). While she has legs like those of Stacy Keibler, she did not do so well on the dance floor and was booted out, but guess what, this naughty couple has a great sense of humor. Watch this spoof video that will remind you of our musicals and Bollywood movies (dancing and kissing next to fountains and behind trees included).

DANCE by Justice

I know the world of music is competitive and even good bands can have a hard time getting visibility, but it does not mean that good music should be behind the curtains. That is where people like me come in - finding the best music videos on the web and bringing it to you. So here is a really neat number called D.A.N.C.E. by French band Justice. Just don't expect to see sexy women prancing around in bikinis; there is a lot of great music you can dance too plus some really interesting visuals.

How to dance like Kat DeLuna?

If you are like me, you have probably fallen in love with Whine Up music video by Kat DeLuna. And I wouldn't be surprised if you have also tried to dance like this Dominican, the way we all tried to dance to Hips Don't Lie music video by Shakira.

Well, if you are learning to dance, it is important to understand that dancers don't just move their butts randomly. Dancing is as mathematical as it can be and professional dancers literally practice every day (Just watch Dancing With The Stars to see how people learn to dance).

Japanese obon dance

Fans of Japanese culture know that dance is an integral part. Of course, many gaijins think of Roppongi nightclubs as a window into dancing in Japan or even para-para, but obon dancing is what I am talking about here. This is a form of dance that is embedded into the Japanese culture for centuries and this dance is performed during summer to honor the dead loved ones. Here is a one brief clip of the dance.

How to do the shimmy in a bellydance?

It ain't easy to bellydance but like anything else, practice makes you perfect. That is why women who take bellydancing must try to put in at least one hour of practice daily. It is a great way to burn some calories and to learn some moves that will not only come handy in your dance and raise self esteem but also in the bedroom.

One of the more difficult moves is called the shimmy. What is it? It is the ability to move one body part independent of the rest of the body. Meital is a 29-year old bellydancer from Israel and she shows in this video clip how easy it is to do it.

Indian students song and dance performance video

You know what I am really starting to like Indian people. I think we may not give them enough credit for what they are capable of and simply think of them as the ones to answer our phones. But it also seems that they have earned their reputation. Remember this video of an Indian movie - rather funny! Or this woman who dances to a Bollywood song? Or these actresses dressed as schoolgirls imitating Britney Spears? Or these people at an Indian wedding party. And it also appears that Indian men dance like women. Their dance moves are so interesting that there is even a Bollywood workout video.

Watch this clip below of a performance by Indian students at Tufts. If you do not like the music show in the beginning, fast forward it and head to a group of Indian girls, yet again, dancing to some Bollywood music. Pretty funny!

Filippinos dance to a music video on the beach

When I went to The Philippines, I was not only impressed by the weather, the weather in Cebu, the food, but also the beautiful people of the country - I mean the women. Then I have run into the wonderful Filippino people in the US, Hong Kong, and Japan.

So here is a music video that shows you some of the most beautiful people in the country and they belong to the local Cebu Reggae Band.

Indian movie clip with a funny dance

Yea, I am serious; there are actually Bollywood workout music videos. While this one does not appear to be more like a party (I am assuming that it is some kind of family gathering since there are people of all ages, though I like the part that there are more women than men). What struck me though is the intensity of the dance - if you dance with this music video, you have my permission to skip your trip to the gym today. And by the way, there are sub-titles in English though the lyrics are as meaningless as those in a reggaeton video.

And by the way if you are looking for a more genuine Indian Bollywood style dancing, check this video.

Indian woman dance video to Bollywood song

One thing that I like about India is that dance is such an integral part of their culture. That is almost all Bollywood films are musicals with a dance number happening at regular intervals (I even found a Bollywood music workout video). I have also learned that Indian people dance at weddings and parties using Bollywood songs.

This home made video is of a woman who has a big attitude (like these Indian dancers in mini skirts) and very interesting facial expressions. So be patient as you watch the whole clip. Initially I did not know what she was wearing but with a little bit of research I learned that she is wearing what the Indians call a "choli," which is a tightly fitted blouse. She has matched it with a long flowing skirt.

Amani Jabril bellydancing video

Bellydancing has evolved a lot in recent years. While it continues to be a dance for entertainment, in many countries, women also use it to workout. However, there are still dancers that dance for the sake of its artistic value. Amani Jabril is one of those belly dancers.

AS someone with an academic approach (Middle East Institute at Georgia State University and advisor to the Georgia State University Dance Ensemble), she is famous for her choreography and fusion of contemporary moves with classical technique. This video clip shows her solo bellydancing performances - one of the best.
