Natalie Portman Devendra Banhart Bollywood music

Photo of Nataly Portmen wearing desi jewelreyWhen I first saw Natalie Portman in this photo wearing so much Indian jewelry and makeup, I was somewhat worried that Indians were hijacking our Hollywood stars too after stealing all our jobs.

Initially I thought it had something to do with her boyfriend being called Devendra (an Indian name) Banhart but it turns out that he is an American born to parents from Venezuela. I could not find any information if he has even visited India, but considering that Bollywood dance was recently featured on So You Think You Can Dance and there are so many Hollywood-Bollywood movies being made, it is not a surprise that Devendra and Natalie have produced this Bollywood spoof. Do not fail to notice that Devendra who once shocked everyone by wearing short-shorts of daisy-dukes in public wears a rather low rise pant in this video prodding me to comment that he really should have undergone a Brazilian bikini wax rather than giving us a peek of his pubic hair.

So You Think You Can Do Bollywood Dance

Even though I have a hard time watching a Bollywood movie -- I couldn't actually even stand The Mistress of Spices. Well, having said that it is entertaining to see Indian people jumping around in Bollywood movies. To me they remind me of cartoons that I watched as a kid except that girls are almost always voluptuous.

And our producers of reality television are so desperate that they will find any way to make their program more interesting. So the morons at “So You Think You Can Dance?” decided to ask a pair of contestants to perform the Bollywood dance. The performance is remarkable because it looks so much like those Bollywood films. I am moving to Mumbai.

Kat DeLuna Cut Off Time, Run The Show

As many of you know I am a big fan of Kat DeLuna and I think the song Whine Up is probably one of the finest pieces of music ever created. I like her so much that I think if you have not learned to dance like Kat DeLuna there is no purpose to your life.

She has other music videos out since then and my opinion is that they aren't as good as Whine Up, but from her latest albums I liked two. One of them has Omarion and Kat DeLuna and it is called "Cut Off Time." Here it is.

The second one is essentially by Kat DeLuna but is also features Don Omar. This one is called "Run The Show."

Shannon Elizabeth Derek Hough ballroom dancing

I have said before that if you are trying to find a girlfriend or want to catch the attention of a man, go and hit the dance floor. In a very public example on the television show Dancing With The Stars we have seen Karina Smirnoff and Mario Lopez, and Sabrina Bryan and Mark Ballas fall in love.

Yet another couple that fell in love is Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough (brother of another pro on the show Julianne Hough). While she has legs like those of Stacy Keibler, she did not do so well on the dance floor and was booted out, but guess what, this naughty couple has a great sense of humor. Watch this spoof video that will remind you of our musicals and Bollywood movies (dancing and kissing next to fountains and behind trees included).

Food court musical

When we watch a musical either on Broadway or in a movie and see people erupting into a song at any moment (I understand that Indians only watch musicals because all Bollywood movies are made that way), we just take it as an art form, a unique way to tell a story. What we don't expect is that to happen in real life. In fact if we are in a public place and if someone just starts to sing (even if she or he has beautiful voice) we think that person is crazy. I wouldn't be surprised if the cops even arrest that person.

Well that is exactly what happened at a mall in Los Angeles where a group of performers performed a musical in the food court but the diners had no idea what was going on. Watch this video recorded with hidden cameras to see the horror and discomfort on people's faces. Thank God these morons eventually decided to give the performers a round of applause.

Mariah Carey Touch My Body

Mariah Carey, like Janice Dickinson and Demi Moore, is one of those women who seem to be getting younger as time passes (while the rest of the world is aging rapidly). That is why she looks better every time I see her.

What is going on?

She has said no to plastic surgery and other things that supposedly make women happy at that age like a loving husband and children are not there in her life.

Well, to find out how a single woman can have a lot of fun too, watch this video of Mariah in which she opens the door to her home dressed in black bra, panties, and garter belts visible under an open silk robe, and then she goes on to satisfy the fantasy of every delivery man (played by Jack McBrayer of 30 Rock - Kenneth) in this beautiful music video "Touch My Body." She even appears at one point dressed like a Catholic schoolgirl and seems to know a lot about computer networking and Laser Tag.

Jordin Sparks Chris Brown No Air

If you did not fall in love with Chris Brown after his VMA performance, you will after you watch him perform a duet with talented Jordin Sparks in this video titled "No Air." What I like about this music video that here are two singers with very powerful voices singing their hearts out. No distracting visuals, no semi-dressed sexy girls moving their butts; just plain great music that you can close your eyes to and enjoy the old fashioned way.

Mark Ronson Daniel Merriweather Stop Me

I am so glad that Mark Ronson (who has done a remarkable job of featuring two other great artists: Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse) decided to feature Daniel Merriweather in this beautiful music video "Stop Me." I am sure that as you watch all these people literally drowning in their tears, please don't cry. Just remember that no tears were actually shed in the making of this video. I must confess, though, that a tear or two did roll down my cheeks.

Mark Ronson Lily Allen Oh My God

I loved it how seamlessly Mark Ronson managed to include Amy Winehouse in Valerie music video but he goes even farther by coming up with a unique way to feature the lovely Lily Allen. I think it would have been great to feature the real Lily who looks lovelier after her weight loss accomplished through hypnosis but Mark actually ends up using an anime version of her, who is one naughty little creature, dressed in a flirtatious one piece dress as she exudes her charm in an English bar.

Mark Ronson Amy Winehouse Valerie

If I announce that Amy Winehouse is one of the best singers of all times, I will simply be echoing what you have all been telling me for months now. I have listened to each of her songs dozens of times but her is another interesting music video of hers. The video Valerie is actually by Mark Ronson but it features Amy Winehouse, and unlike many other videos like this, she just gets invited to the stage from the audience and starts singing. Also notice that she trademark beehive is somewhat understated.

Higher by Heidi Montag

It doesn't matter how hard you try, it is difficult to like Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt. You never know what is real and what is fiction about them. So when Spencer Pratt makes a music video of Heidi singing “Higher,” you shouldn't expect much (reminds me of Paris Hilton music video Stars Are Blind) because you will not get much. There you have her prancing around the beach, playing with seagulls or just looking cute in a pink bikini while she pretends to sing. Awful but worth watching just so that you can hate her even more.

I Get It by Chavelle

If you are stuck in your career and work with a boss who is a jerk, I know your pain. I have been in that spot way too many times in my professional career. I have always wondered why companies not only keep hiring nasty people but also promoting them when they do nothing more than whine all the time (since they are always busy and complaining about lack of resources, companies brand them as "executives who get things done" and "produce results").

Thankfully, there is justice, not somewhere up there in the sky in front of a guy with a long, white bear, but right here and there is sweet revenge that happens all the time. That's exactly what this music video is all about. So if you are a schmuck like me, buddy, hang in there; justice will be done. And if you are one of those mean bosses, watch carefully -- it could happen to you.

Selfish by Asia Cruise

I recently spent a day in Jacksonville, Florida, and unlike other hot places in Florida like Miami or Orlando, it is a beautiful southern town and so unlike what we think of the Sunshine State. So to find out that there are men who break hearts of beautiful girls like Asia Cruise, is heartbreaking, to say the least.

Watch this great music video of Asia Cruise, who is clearly a sexy woman and has a great voice, though, I think that she needs to take some dancing lessons from Kat DeLuna.

Walk Away Remember Me by Paula DeAnda

You might recall Paula DeAnda's music video called Easy that I featured earlier and this time let me feature her music with another wonderful band that I like called The Dey. This music video called "Walk Away (Remember Me)." What I like about this song is that it marries the talents two great bands.

Give You The World by DEY

One of the greatest things that I have discovered is that I shouldn't take myself too seriously and admit that I only know so much. For instance, I often get this idea that somehow I know all the good bands out there and I have probably watched all the good music videos. But then I am proven wrong by bands like The D.E.Y. Check this great track from them called "Give You The World." The band includes Divine, Élan, and Yeyo (DEY), and since they speak both English and Spanish the music is a fusion of hip-hop, R&B, pop, and Afro-Latino. The result is an eclectic mix of Latino and English music.

Christina Aguilera Save Me From Myself

Well all the naughty action in the bedroom by Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman paid off. One of the few couples in Hollywood with a rock solid marriage, they now have a child called Max Liron Bratman. As all of you know, I am a big fan of her music (Check out Candyman) and I am now recommending another music video of hers called "Save Me From Myself," a song written as a tribute to her son. It is a beautiful track and very personal (even features clips from their wedding video).

Britney Spears Piece of Me

Now please do not compare me to Chris Rocker, but I am not embarrassed to say that I am a big fan of Britney Spears. Mind you, it is none of my business to evaluate her mothering skills or to criticize her memory loss insofar as wearing underwear is concerned, but when it comes to making good music, she still is one of the best. That is what I saw in Gimme More and that is exactly what I am seeing in "Piece of Me." I think she gets more attention from the media than the American President and she has had enough.

Ivy Queen Te he querido Te he Llorado

As many of you know, the Spanish music has a special place in my heart and while my comprehension of the language is limited to Hola and Gracias, I still love the music. That is why when I was introduced to Ivy Queen, I was mesmerized. Remember that she is an unusual artist. She has a somewhat masculine voice but has still managed to become a top singer and that includes Grammy nominations. I have watched her other music videos and I must confess that they are good in an unusual way. Here is a favorite of mine called Te he querido Te he Llorado:

There are other things that might interest you about her. She is a woman who has found success in the world of reggaeton dominated by macho Latin men.

Plus, she is a plastic surgery addict and has not only breast implants but also had work done on her face. Plus, she seems to have the longest nails in the world.

Nancy Sinatra Bang Bang

You know I love a wide variety of music and have fairly eclectic tastes but a lot of songs from the past bore me to death. For instance, I have great respect for Frank Sinatra but I do not necessarily listen to his music. Then I found this video of Nancy Sinatra singing Bang Bang. Just be patient and listen to this beautiful melody.

Enur Calabria featuring Natasia

I think you can always listen to the big bands - even the radio stations play the same tracks all day. Plus, chances are that you have downloaded their music to your iPod already. That is why I consider my job to be to find lesser known bands like Enur. Here is a great track that you can dance to and it is called Calabria and it features Natasia.

Britney Spears pole dancing Gimme More

Despite what some people call as the disastrous performance at the VMA by Briney Spears, I think the Gimme More music video is awesome. What I do know for sure that she may be a bad mom and her life may be a total mess, but she is a talented singer. That is why this video is so cool. Plus now that pole dancing and exotic dancing is being done by soccer moms, there is nothing wrong with this setting. Maybe Britney Spears will understand life some day.

Kat Deluna Miss Teen USA performance

I am sure that you loved the Whine-up music video by Kat DeLuna and also learned how to dance like Kat Deluna. While I loved the official video she also performed at the Miss Teen USA pageant hosted by Mario Lopez. What they did was that during the swimsuits competition, Kat Deluna performed (it was not live - she lip-synched) on the stage. It was awesome - all these gorgeous American beauties in swimwear moving to the rhythm of this hot Latina. What you must also notice is that some of the contestants actually tried to imitate the moves. And I hope you notice Kat's mini skirt.

Maroon5 Makes Me Wonder

Maroon5 simply has the best music out there. They are full of energy, the music has rhythm, and they put their heart and soul into the music. In no song this is more apparent than the "Makes Me Wonder" track. What do you guys think? Do you like it as much as I do?

Do It Well by Jennifer Lopez

I have no embarrassment in confessing that I am a fan of Jennifer Lopez (here are the music videos that I like: Me Haces Falta, Waiting For Tonight) and this time too she has not disappointed me. I wonder if she will beat Madonna in being able to become ageless and be able to sing like a teenager her whole life.

Obama Girl supports the troops

The Obama Girl is truly creative. While she does may political statements, support for the troops shouldn't be apolitical but considering the current environment, support for the troops appears this way. The Invisible Ad from Hillary Clinton turned out to have several hidden messages. Watch this hilarious and sexy video from Amber Lee Ettinger.

Sayaconcept music

Apart from Miki Ariyama and Sown, I have now been introduced to another upcoming band (it is so hard to call them Japanese since the membership is global -- Japan, Europe, and Vietnam) called Sayaconcept. What is interesting about their music is that it is an eclectic mix between traditional Japanese music and modern music. Listen to this clip below:

Chris Brown MTV VMA performance

While Justin Timberlake may have joked about Chris Brown being good because he is young, the reality is that he was just being modest. They are both great entertainers, but undoubtedly, Chris Brown is one of the most talented stars right now. And if you see a few traces of
