Merck sued by New York State
Merck has done a pretty good job of blaming the patients for suffering from heart attacks and strokes caused by Vioxx. It has also had some help from the fact that so many Americans are either overweight or obese and suffer from a variety of ailments like diabetes, cardiovascular complications, etc..

No Vioxx class action lawsuits
One of Merck’s legal strategies has been to fight Vioxx class action lawsuits.
