How to measure bra size correctly?
Four out of five women wear the wrong bra size

Summary:  Based on several surveys completed, it is now known that four out of five women wear the wrong bra size either because they never found out the correct bra size for them or their size has changed since the last time they measured themselves.  This article explains how to measure your bra size correctly.  (Related:  Simone Perele Argentina lingerie)

The best way to find out your correct bra size is to visit a professional bra fitting expert.  Most of them can be found in a lingerie store or in a department store.  If not, ask a friend to help you out.  If none of this is possible, you can do it yourself.  Websites of lingerie and bra companies (e.g. La Perla, Victoria's Secret, Wacoal, Emporio Lingerie, Just My Size, Fredericks of Hollywood, Spicy Lingerie, 3 Wishes, Studio Lingerie, etc. all have some information on bra sizes.

What will you need?

  • A tape measure (preferably with both inches and centimeters since that will allow you to know your sizes in both types of units and then you will have no problem at all selecting the right bra for you)
  • A full length mirror

How to measure your bra size?

  • Undress completely on the top.
  • Measure yourself in inches around the ribcage below your bust. (Data A)
  • Now measure yourself around the fullest part of your bust. (Data B)
  • Add 5 (for odd numbers) and 4 (for even numbers) onto the first measurement to get your bra size (in inches).
  • To find out the cup size, calculate the difference between data B and data A and then use the table below:
Difference Cup size
Same size A
Up to one inch B
Up to two inches C
Up to three inches D
Up to four inches DD
Up to five inches E
Up to six inches F
Up to seven inches FF
Up to eight inches G

Finally, you will never know your exact bra size till you try something on.  Each woman is different and that is why trial and error works.  If you need to make minor adjustments to your bra, please do it.  It will do you a lot of good.  And also remember that size changes with weight, age, menstrual cycle, pregnancy, etc.  So it is a good idea to change your bra as soon as you realize that the bra is too tight or too loose.

Disclaimer:  As I said above, the best way to find out is to get yourself measured by a pro fitting expert.  These calculations give you a starting point but in the end, each woman is different.  These calculations also don't work particularly well for women with small breasts.
