Fishnet
tights have been cool off and on in America. Like the garter
belts, they were
considered too bold for a while and women were just not comfortable using them
other than for either wild parties or during intimate situation. The situation was
rather different in many parts of the world. While women in most parts of the
developed world would
make serious attempts to look serious, this is not the case in
many European and Asian countries where women emphasized femininity more than
anything else.

Well, it seems that the trends are changing all over the
world and American women seem to have now provided the leadership. Fishnet
stockings are hot all over the world again. They are still not acceptable
for those 'power meetings' but they are being seen more commonly during everyday
wear at work especially in companies that are involved in advertising, media,
and arts. In banks, consulting, and industrial type companies, the dress
code is still relatively conservative. (Related article: Where
can I use fishnet tights?)
MYNIPPON research has shown that the most common color is
still black. Some bold women have been trying other colors but only for
wild evening parties and only in intimate settings rather than in public.

The question that is being raised by the
MYNIPPON fashion
team is why women all over the world have fallen into the trap of looking like
men to compete with them for fame and power. Unfortunately, women
who emphasize femininity and personal life over careers have suffered simply
because they are not like everyone else in the boardroom or the conference
room. Many women who have dressed (as they should) like feminine women
have not been taken seriously by their male colleagues. (Related:

Some of the leading designers have
now introduced fishnet stockings in their shows are Anna
Sui, Helmut
Lang, and Vivienne
Westwood. Interestingly, this time the number of colors
available is also huge with some of the more common ones being off-white, pink,
black, magenta, brown, and of course, red. However, be careful to use
fishnet in everyday fashion!
As the international designers picked up the
trend, several adventurous women all over the world are now embracing these
despite the eyebrows that might be raised. Anna Evens informs us that she
has been wearing these since she was 11. "I enjoy the comfort, the
attraction, and the sensation I get when I wear them. I wear them
with a lot of the leggy costumes I have. I also wear them with a shirt and
a thong over the fishnets. Every now and then I'll wear my fishnets with
my dresses if I'm going out to party. My friend always like what they see,
including the men."
