to motivate your wife to buy pretty lingerie

 We have been talking about how men tend to be rather visual creatures and how much they appreciate
lingerie on
women. Unfortunately, not all women seem to "get
it." Such
reluctance on the part of women for whatever reason can have disastrous consequences on the relationship: loss of
desire for
intimacy, impulse to commit adultery, visits to unacceptable websites or entertainment clubs, etc.
Arnold in Lowell, MA, asks, "While I did not pay much attention to it prior to our wedding (we did not spend a great deal of time sleeping together prior to our wedding due to
religious reasons) I have now found out that my wife uses very plain,
unattractive underwear (I am not sure I can even use the term
'lingerie'). It really puts me off as I love
cuter underwear on a woman. I don't want her to wear anything outrageous; just some pretty stuff. How can I convince her to change?"

It seems to us that she refuses to wear
pretty underwear not because she has anything against you; she is probably just ignorant and has wrong
conceptions about sexy
lingerie. Most women learn about lingerie from their
mothers (and sisters, if any). If they see their mother use
cute lingerie (mother is also likely to help them shop for
attractive lingerie when they first start to use it), they will develop a good habit. If for any reason, your wife has not had this experience, she may be hesitant to use it now. Here are a few things to try to make her restock her
lingerie
chest:
- If possible, reach out to a female friend or family member who is close to both of you. Seek her help confidentially. She will be far more effective than you approaching this topic directly with her.
- Instead of asking her to wear
sexy lingerie, why don't you sit down with her on a computer, visit a couple of websites (some popular websites are

etc.) together and pick something that you like and she can wear it. One of the biggest mistake that men commit when they
shop for lingerie for women is that they buy what they like and it is generally way too much for most women. So it stays in the drawer after being used once or twice.
- In your everyday life, when you do see a pretty lingerie item, make sure that you point that out to your wife. It is highly unlikely that your wife would not be interested in wearing it for you.
